Unsigned London-based four-piece Partly Faithful are ready to unveil their hotly anticipated second EP ‘The Beehive’. Described as “sinister art rock with a post-punk edge”, this extended player follows on from their now sold out self-titled debut. It features lead guitars and backing vocals from Savages’ Gemma Thompson and a generous amount of influence from Peter Gabriel, Bauhaus, Grinderman and early Horrors.
Written by Partly Faithful, produced by David Ryder Prangley (Rachel Stamp) and engineered by Adie Hardy (B-Movie) in West London, ‘The Beehive’ is a five-part reverb-drenched symphony noir that will haunt your nightmares.
Title track ‘The Beehive’ tells of an individual’s struggle to stay afloat in a dystopian society where a person’s worth is measured by their conformance to social norms. ‘Needles’ returns to the political vitriol of ‘Just Fine’ from their debut, spurred on by the series of strikes earlier in the year. ‘The Worm Within’ is Partly Faithful’s very own ‘murder ballad’; a twisted tale of tortured obsession and denial and the melancholic ‘So Happy’ is a heart-felt melody about watching a former lover get married. The finale ‘Pause For Applause’ is arguably their most controversial offering so far…
Partly Faithful ’s live line up has recently been enhanced with the addition of guitarist/backing vocalist Anouska Haze (Rubella/Exotica). The band will be touring around the UK and Europe in support of ‘The Beehive’ this autumn. London shows have just been confirmed with Cold In Berlin and David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets).
